Vicki Lynn Blew-Taylor

April 12, 1961 — August 10, 2024

Albany, New York

Vicki Lynn Blew-Taylor, age 63, of Albany, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. Born on April 12, 1961, in St. Marys, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of William and Phyllis (Steen) Blew, who both survive her.

Vicki is also survived by her stepmother, Ann Blew; her aunt, Sally Feltz of Celina, Ohio; cousins Cindy Adams of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Karen Perts of Celina, Ohio, and Gary Blew of Michigan; and brothers-in-law Richard (Violeta) Taylor and William (Levita) Taylor Jr. of Pittsburg, California.

She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Alan Taylor; father-in-law William Taylor; mother-in-law Doris Taylor; and her grandparents, Truett and Blanch Steen and Harry and Leona Blew, as well as her aunt and uncle, Bob and Marilyn Blew.

A proud graduate of New Haven High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Vicki dedicated much of her professional life to baking. She worked as a cake maker at Sam’s Club in Albany from 1994 to 2006, then as an assistant manager at Walmart in Schenectady from 2006 to 2008, and continued her passion for baking until 2013. In her later years, Vicki semi-retired to provide round-the-clock care for her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and husband during their illnesses.

Vicki found joy in the company of her husband, her beloved dogs (Ally and Sam), and close friends. An avid football fan, she passionately cheered for her favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, and harbored a lifelong crush on Donny Osmond. Despite living away from Ohio for most of her life, she remained devoted to her Ohio roots, relishing in authentic Ohio breaded tenderloin sandwiches, Caramel Bun Bars, and Vernor’s Ginger Ale.

Throughout her life, Vicki faced many challenges with unwavering positivity and a remarkable sense of humor. Her favorite saying, “If you can’t find the sunshine, BE the sunshine,” reflected her radiant spirit, and she truly embodied that light.

Vicki’s family welcomes her back home to Ohio, where her urn will be held in her mother’s home until she and Alan are laid to rest in the family cemetery plot. A celebration of life for Vicki and Alan will be held at a later date.

In this time of mourning, the family expresses their gratitude for the love and support from all who knew Vicki. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
