Ted Turner, 61, of St. Marys, OH, passed away after a short battle with cancer at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 9:00 AM. He was born September 11, 1953 in Martin, KY, the son of Clifford Turner who precedes him in death and Norma Jean (Horn) McMurray who survives in Celina.
He is also survived by a two daughters, Miracle (Shane) Elam, Yellow Springs, OH and Charity (Dustin) Platfoot, Jackson Center, OH; a son, Chance (Heather) Turner, Piqua, OH; two brothers, Gene (Gretchen) Turner, St. Marys and Joe Douglas (Faye) Turner, George Town, KY; the children’s mother, Cindy Perry; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lana Deaton; and a stepfather, Roy (Bus) McMurray.
Ted was a 1971 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He attended Ohio State University and completed his bachelor’s degree from UNOH in Lima.
The family will receive friends from 3 -4 pm on Sunday November 9, 2014, in the Cisco Funeral Home of St. Marys. Private services will be held at a later date.
