She was born on August 8, 1948 in Celina, Ohio to the late John "Jack" and June (Montague) Axe. On August 28, 1971 she married Dr. Ralph Hecht, who survives in Celina. This year, Ralph and Susan celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Susan is survived by her children: Stacy Hecht of Celina, Ohio and Kristi (Brian) Culhane of Phoenix, Arizona. Her siblings: Sandra (Denis) Ficarra, San Diego, California; Steve (Gigi) Axe, Oro Valley, Arizona; Scott (Janine) Axe, St. Marys, Ohio; and Tim Axe, St. Marys, Ohio. Also, seven beloved grandchildren: Marissa, Kaeli, Natalie, Westin, Grant, Ross and Taylor.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Allen Hecht and her in-laws, Carl and Emogene Hecht.
Susan was a 1966 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School in St. Marys, Ohio. Together Ralph and Susan co-owned Celina Animal Hospital Inc. and Celina Pet Center where she was the accounts manager.
Susan was a proud and devout woman of faith at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. She cherished time with family and friends. Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who will miss her deeply.
In her leisure, she enjoyed scenic drives around the area and many times to Arizona to visit family. She was also an avid sports fan: always following her grandchildren's teams as well as the Reds, Buckeyes, and Bengals.
To those who knew her best, there was not a more caring, giving, or loving woman who expected nothing in return.
