Ronald Smith

Ronald Smith, age 85, of Celina, Ohio and Neptune, Ohio passed away at 8:10am on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on January 14, 1929 in Hopewell Township, Ohio. To the late Raymond & Ocie (Wurster) Smith. On July 8, 1950 he married Nora Lee Snavely, who passed away December 9, 2012. Survivors: daughter: Beth Ann & Kelly Hoffman, Celina, Ohio; daughter-in-law: Donna Smith, Celina, Ohio; grandchildren: Melissa & Jeremy Parrish, Hannah Smith & Fiancé James Carr, Jeremy Smith & Cameron Hoffman; great grandchildren: Madelyn Parrish & Andrew Parrish; sisters: Wilma Houts, Celina, Ohio; and Naomi Counterman, Rockford, Ohio. Preceded in death by son: Dale Smith. He loved fishing, refinishing furniture & caning chairs. He retired from General Telephone in 1988 where he had worked for 43 years. Ronald was a member of Grace Missionary Church & was a long time member of the Mercer County Sportsman Association. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 10th at the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, Rev. Bruce Head, officiating. Burial will follow at Neptune Cemetery.
