Robert “Bob” A. Hare, age 78, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Mercer Health, Coldwater. He was born on August 12, 1943 in Celina to the late John and Matilda (Stegeman) Hare-Brandts. On December 26, 1970 he married Jeannette (Schultz) Hare and she survives at their residence in Celina.
Other survivors include a daughter, Chris Hare, Parsonsfield, Maine; two sons, Greg (Chrissy) Hare, Rapid City, South Dakota and Douglas Hare, Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Rev. Donald (Barbara) Hare, Celina; and two grandsons, Sean and Jackson Hare.
Bob was a 1961 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era. He worked in sales his entire life in a variety of jobs which included the Daily Standard, Francis Furniture and Jackson’s Garage, all in Celina. He was also part owner and operator of the S and H Orange Barn located on State Route 703 in Celina.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, Celina Eagles Aerie #1291, Celina American Legion Post # 210 and Disabled American Veterans in Celina. Bob enjoyed flying model airplanes and helicopters, fishing, and watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Visitation and a gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Cisco Funeral Home 6921 State Route 703 East in Celina.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Family Life Center of St. John Lutheran Church, 1100 N. Main Street, Celina, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Gramza officiating; where the family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am before the service.
Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
