Raymond Clutter, 94, of Celina, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Gardens of Celina. He was born May 5, 1928 in Rockford, Ohio to the late Samuel and Lela Mae (McClintock) Clutter. On February 26, 1949 he married Evelyn D. (Anderson) Clutter and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2022.
Other survivors include a daughter, Ann (Robert) Scholz, Waukesha, Wisconsin; two sons, Jay (Debbie) Clutter, Wapakoneta and Pastor Tim (Rita) Clutter, Celina; a sister, June Cashel, Van Wert; many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Laura Scholz, Amy Scholz, Stacy (Ryan) Gillette, Brian (Jill) Clutter and Adam (Staci) Clutter; and six great grandchildren.
Raymond is also preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Albert Clutter, Allen Dale Clutter, Franklin D. Clutter and Wayne Clutter; and two sisters Mary Ellen Price and Jane Baker.
He was a 1947 graduate of Rockford High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War on the front line as a Tank Commander in Company B, 245th Tank Battalion. In 2018 Raymond had the privilege to participate in an Honor Flight trip to Washington DC to visit the service memorials with other veterans. He retired from New Idea in Coldwater in 1990 after 30 years of service.
Raymond attended Mt. Tabor Church of God in Celina and truly enjoyed his church family. He was also a 66 year member of both the Celina VFW Post 5713 and Rockford American Legion Post 508. His greatest joy was his family and spending time with them.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating; where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina; where military honors will be provided by the Celina American Legion Post # 210 and Celina VFW Post # 5713.
