Patricia “Pat” L. Highley, age 85, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at 5:05 am September 13, 2022, at Mercer Health in Coldwater, surrounded by her family. She was born October 9, 1936 in Celina to the late Chester L. and Marie H. Brown. On June 6, 1952 she married Robert “Bob” E. Highley and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2019.
Survivors include her children, Richard Highley, Celina, Rebecca (Richard) VanTilburg, Celina, Vickie (Christopher) Houts, Powell, Ohio, Michael (Mary) Highley, Celina, and Diane (Randy) Donovan, Celina; a sister, Mary Anne Bollenbacher, Decatur, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Betty (Jerry) Powell, Celina; a brother-in-law, James (Georgia) Highley, Celina; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat is also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan K. Highley; a brother, Dale Brown; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Highley; and a brother-in-law, Olen Bollenbacher.
Pat attended Celina High School. She was an accomplished and devoted homemaker and farm wife. She worked for Stanley Home Products with a career spanning more than 50 years concluding as a regional manager. She especially enjoyed her Stanley parties with the Amish community. Pat and Bob were also very proud to accomplish the feat of traveling to all fifty states.
She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Church of God, Durbin Community Club, and the Mercer County Farm Bureau Council for over 50 years. She also volunteered cooking at Camp Otyokwah in Butler, Ohio for many years.
Pat loved gardening, canning, cooking/baking, growing flowers and watching birds and butterflies. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and enjoyed every minute playing those roles throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation hours will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, September 19, 2022 in the Mt. Carmel Church of God, 2493 Carmel Church Rd., Celina, Ohio with Pastor Mark Wakeland officiating; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
