Marvalee Alice Krites Rupert, 91, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
She was born September 29, 1930 on the family farm, north of St. Marys, Ohio to Clifford and Vada (Foltz) Krites. She graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1948. While employed by Blanket Reprocessing, she met her husband, Irvin Rupert, and they were married December 22, 1952.
Marvalee became a stay-at-home mom to her children, Jackie, Lonnie, Jerry and Kathy. She was always there for her children including drop-offs, pick-ups and attending every event her children were involved in. There was always a delicious home cooked meal prepared for the family. Even after she was widowed in 1972, and went back to work, she continued to ensure her kids came first.
Besides working, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, crafts, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, taking drives, playing cards and games with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 19 years, an infant brother, sister Wanda Engel, and brother Richard Krites.
She is survived by her sister Letha Bair; children Jacqueline (Steven) Hays, Alonzo (Bona) Rupert, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremiah Rupert, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret'd), and Kathleen (Gregory) Topp.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Andrew Rupert, Heather (John) Saffle; Matthew, Ethan, John and Jacob Rupert; Joshua Topp, Jodie Magers, Cody (Kaylee) and Casey (Emily) Topp. Great-grandchildren Kadence, Aria and one on the way. Grandchildren of the heart Alex, Daniel and Makenna.
Family will welcome friends 11-1 on Friday, February 11, followed by a Celebration of Life at Cisco Funeral Home 1175 E. Greenville Rd., St. Marys, Ohio 45885. Marvalee will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
