Marilyn K. Neuman, age 83, of New Knoxville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 6, 2024 at Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen. She was born January 27, 1941 in Lima to the late O. Richard and Mary E. “Betty” (Sillin) Roser. On May 12, 1962 she married Elmer L. Neuman and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2007.
She is survived by two sons, eldest son, Michael E. (Victoria) Neuman, New Knoxville and their children, Sarah (Tyler) Braun, Botkins, Rebekah (Joel) Clements, St. Marys and her youngest son, Richard L. (Lisa) Neuman, New Knoxville and their daughter, Samantha Neuman, New Knoxville; a great granddaughter, Makayla E. Braun; a brother Carl (Marsha) Roser, New River, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Roser, Wapakoneta.
Marilyn is also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Roser.
She was a 1959 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. She was self-employed working with her husband Elmer, selling iron and woodworking items at craft shows throughout the Midwest. Additionally, she also worked for many years as a photojournalist for the Evening Leader in St. Marys, taught swimming lessons and was also a job coach of the Auglaize County ESC.
Marilyn and Elmer enjoyed a wonderful life together raising their family. She enjoyed her Christian faith based card ministry, volunteering at the JTDMH in St. Marys, crafts and touching people’s lives in a positive way. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of her, we find solace knowing that she is now with God. She is at peace, and for that, we are grateful.
Private graveside services were held on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville, Ohio with Pastor Dennis Gaertner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Knoxville Fire Department.
Marilyn’s family would like to offer thanks to the staff at Elmwood Assisted Living for the special care they gave Marilyn.
