Lynn W. Kohlhorst, age 77, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at Celina Manor. Born on June 5, 1947, in Celina, he was the beloved son of the late Marlin and Martha (Weadock) Kohlhorst. On September 20, 1975, he married the love of his life, Diane (Lynch) Kohlhorst, who survives him.
Lynn is also survived by his cherished children, Mark (Amy) Kohlhorst and Amy Kohlhorst, both of Greenville; a brother, Allyn (Gail) Kohlhorst of West Virginia; a sister, Marlene (Mike) Rutschilling of St. Marys; and two adored grandchildren, Amanda (Jake) Price of Hohenfels, Bayern, Germany, and Mariah (Rick) Gahret of Greenville. He took great joy in his four great-grandchildren: Isabel, Jayden, Zavier, and Serenity. Lynn also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kohlhorst.
A proud graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1965), Lynn went on to earn his degree in education from Bowling Green State University. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. For eight years, he taught Junior High Ohio History in Greenville, where he also coached Junior High football, imparting his passion for history and sports to his students.
Lynn was an avid sports fan, relishing every moment of watching Ohio State and St. Marys Rough Rider Football. Family was central to his life, and he cherished time spent with loved ones. In his leisure, he enjoyed classic westerns and documentaries on the History Channel.
