Laurie R. Shaner 86 of Celina, Passed away, September 24, 2013 in the Gardens of Celina. She was born May 14, 1927 to the late Alvin and Laura (Bertke) Dicke. Laurie was a Graduate from New Bremen High School Class of 1945. Laurie worked at Celina Insurance Group, Celina West Elementary in the Cafeteria, Celina Lumber Co., Crons Tires and Supply, Mercer County Treasures Office, Her and her Husband Leon were caretakers for the Mercer County 4-H camp for 20 years, they were instrumental in building and running The Padlock Inn Warehouse in St. Marys, she was a long time member of St Pauls United Methodist Church, Celina, Ohio. Laurie enjoyed quilting and playing cards with friends and family. In recent years she enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in different activities.

Laurie is survived by her husband Vilas Leon Shaner, a daughter Gwen (David) Howell of Celina, Oh; two sons Grady (Diane) Shaner of St. Marys, Ohio; Kent (Karen) Shaner of Maria Stein, Ohio; 6 Grandchildren, Leah and (Curt) Cramer, Derek and (Lacy) Howell, Grant and (Stephanie) Shaner, Marcy Shaner, Kyle Shaner and Kristi Shaner ; 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by two brothers Ralph and Wilton Dicke.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2013 in the Cisco Funeral Home Celina, Ohio. Funeral Service will be Saturday 11:00 am with one hour visitation before the service. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Garden with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating. Memorial Contribution can be made at State of the Heart Hospice or St. Pauls United Methodist Church.
