June E. Weitz of Celina, passed away at the age of 95 on February 1, 2021 at 10:05 am in Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater. She was born June 13, 1925 in St. Marys to the late Emil & Hazel (King) Schnelle. On January 26, 1963, she married her husband, Norval Weitz; they were married for fifty years before his passing in 2012.
June is survived by her children, Janet (George) Parker of Celina, Wendy (Bradley) Kelley of Spencerville, and Shelly Hines of Celina; a sister, Carol Germann of Van Wert, eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norval Weitz, her daughter, Patricia Rieger and siblings, Fredallas Schnelle, Fredonia Leugers, Pauline Rempe, Robert Schnelle, Pauladen Schnelle, Wilma Gray and Emil Schnelle Jr.
June attended St. Marys Memorial High School as a teenager and devoted most of her life as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, she was a cookbook & doll collector, enjoyed playing cards and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at gathering and memorial service.
