Joyce Ann Hone, age 84, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at 6:55PM on November 14, 2014 at The Gardens at Celina. She was born on April 28, 1930 in Celina, Ohio to the late Dussel & Peggy (Pifer) Lohrentz. On June 4, 1977 she married Dennis Hone, who survives in Celina, Ohio.

Also surviving are daughter: Kay & Rick Simpson, Celina, Ohio; step-sons: David & Mary Hone, Celina, Ohio; Kevin Hone, Celina, Ohio; grandchildren: Tara May, Adrienne & Tamlyn Kalah, Brian Youngs, Blake Simpson; step-grandchildren: Krestine, Dalton, Amanda, Jaysen Hone; 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: son: Tom Kalah; brother: Don Lohrentz.

She was a loving mother & grandmother to her family. Joyce graduated from Celina High in 1948 & Bowling Green State University with a BS in Education. Joyce was a teacher for 30 years having taught at Chickasaw, Celina & St. Marys Memorial High. She was an Assistant Coach at Memorial High - for 2 years for the Girls Tennis and 10 years for the Girls Softball having coached District Champions 4 Times and reached the State Finals in Softball in 1981. She was an Alumni member of Gamma Phi Beta, a founding member of Sigma Sorority – a member of Delta Kappa Gamma (Teachers Honor Society), Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Mercer County & Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Celina History Club & University Club (Red Hats). She was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church, having sang in the choir, was treasurer, PPR & Willing Workers and held the oldest membership at Bethany.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Cisco Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-8PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
