JoAnn Lampert, age 83, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 4:35 pm, at St. Marys Living Center. She was born November 1, 1933 in New Bremen, OH, to the late Clayton and Corrine (Hollingsworth) Schnell. On May 16, 1953, she married Eugene “Gene” Edwin Charles Lampert, he preceded her in death on January 7, 2010.
She is survived by her three children; Kim (Kathleen) Lampert, Christine (Mike) Homan, and John (Kathy) Lampert, all of St. Marys; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Dennings, Covington, OH, and Audrey McCollum, New Bremen, OH; her seven loving grandchildren include, along with their spouses; Brenda (Kenny) Klosterman, St. Marys, Nicole (Chris) Fortkamp, Coldwater, Tony Homan, St. Marys, Brian Homan, St. Marys, Elizabeth (Jason) Johnson, St. Marys, Emily (John) Meinerding, St. Marys, and Alex (Jill) Lampert, St. Marys; she was also blessed to have eleven great grandchildren, Aiden, Makenna, Cason, and Xander Meinderding, Braylon, Zoey, and Bailey Lampert, Korey, and Kaylee Klosterman, and Brantley, and Bryce Fortkamp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Schnell; five brothers-in-law, Orville (Norma) Lampert, Virgil (Jean) Lampert, Thomas (Edna) Lampert, Jack McCollum, and Guy Dennings; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Schnell, and Barb Schnell.
JoAnn was a 1951 graduate of New Bremen High School. She co-owned and operated Lampert’s IGA in Piqua with her husband Gene and his brother, Tom. She also co-owned and operated Lampert’s Meats from 1964 – 1978 in St. Marys.
She was member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.
JoAnn was a very social person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, March 24, 2017 in Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, with Deacon Marty Brown officiating; where the family will receive friends 9:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys, OH.
