Isaak “Ike” Allen Meinerding, age 39, of St. Marys joined the Lord after a brief illness on July 29, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born September 8, 1978, in St. Marys to Allen & Janet (Carmean) Meinerding who both survive in St. Marys.
Ike was a devoted brother to his siblings, Marcie Albright of St. Marys, John (Emily) Meinerding of St. Marys, Jakob (Ellyn) Meinerding of Cincinnati, Samantha Meinerding of St. Marys and Katie Meinerding, who preceded him in death. He truly enjoyed his time spent with his nieces and nephews who he deeply adored, Olivia, Madison & Abigail Albright; Aiden, Makenna, Cason & Xander Meinerding; Leona & Brynn Meinerding. He loved his extended family that include many aunts & uncles, Elaine (Sam) Yancey, David (Janie) Meinerding, JoAnn (Richard) Meckstroth, Mary Jane (Steve) Mackenbach, Doris Meinerding (Dave Thurston), Jack (Lynne) Carmean and many cousins.
Ike was also preceded in death by his grandparents Wecenslaus & Rita Meinerding, Francis & Grace Carmean, and niece Emma Meinerding.
Ike was a 1997 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School where he played on the soccer team. He was employed in manufacturing at General Aluminum Manufacturing Co. in Wapakoneta and was a member of Holy Rosary Church and had a deep faith in the Lord.
He had many interests but his most pronounced interest was sports. He participated in Special Olympics sports when he was younger. Ike enjoyed watching and attending Roughrider football games. He also enjoyed music; he was a big classic rock fan and enjoyed attending numerous concerts. He never missed a day of work in twenty-some years, until his recent illness. Ike also enjoyed walking, roller coaster riding, napping and sipping a cold beer and not necessarily in that order.
Ike’s kindness, easy going attitude, and sense of humor were a constant positive influence on everyone that knew him. His real and abiding passions were his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all.
