Frances M. Stoner, age 86, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born May 24, 1931 in Mendon, Ohio, to the late Ray and Arkana (Crouch) Shellabarger. On September 9, 1951 she married George F. Stoner Jr., and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2013.
Survivors include her children, James A. (Cheryl) Stoner, Celina, Donna J. (Raymond) May, Celina, John F. (Bobbi) Stoner, Celina, Deanna L. Miller, Celina, Jerry D. (Angie) Stoner, Celina, and Thomas M. (Julie) Stoner, Raleigh, NC; a sister, Vivian Hodge, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Martha Shellabarger, Mendon, and Mary Lou Riley, Convoy, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Ed (Yvonne) Stoner, Marysville, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Evelyn Spees, Stanley (Louise) Shellabarger, Lowell (Evelyn) Shellabarger, John (Mary Lou) Shellabarger, and Wayne Shellabarger; a son-in-law, Jim Miller; and a granddaughter.
Frances was a 1950 graduate of Mendon High School. She spent a lifetime working as she liked to put it as a “domestic engineer” or being a mom. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her cinnamon and dinner rolls. She loved Sunday evenings at the farm sitting on the porch with the family and ordering pizza.
She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all.
Frances was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of God in Celina.
Visitation hours will be from 1 - 5 pm, Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Mt. Carmel Church of God, 2493 Carmel Church Rd., Celina, Ohio with Pastor Mark Wakeland officiating, and Pastor Craig Flack and Pastor Mike Spencer co-officiating; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
