Eleanor J. Schmidt, 92, St. Marys, Ohio, died at 1:20 am April 21, 2016, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, Ohio.
She was born May 18, 1923, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Benson and Myra (Keller) McCune, both preceded her in death. She was married to Vernon Schmidt Jr., on August 19, 1945 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2009.
Survivors are two sons, Vernon (Sharon) Schmidt III, Dayton and Charles David Schmidt, St. Marys; a daughter, Patrica (Bill) Underburger, Dayton; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, David McCune; and a sister, Evelyn Langley.
Eleanor was a 1941 graduate of Steubenville High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Marys, St. Marys American Legion Post 323, and the St. Marys Garden Club.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, Ohio, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys.
