Eldon F. Moorman, age 88, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at The Gardens of Celina. He was born April 26, 1936 in Mercer County to the late Wilferd and Coreen (Ward) Moorman. On July 6, 1957 he married Margaret I. (Stammen) Moorman and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2020.
Other survivors include his children, Daniel Moorman, Celina, Deborah (Jeffrey) Sneddon, Celina, Jacqueline (Kevin) Edwards, Lima, Douglas (Shalimar) Moorman, Celina and Todd Moorman, Greenville; a sister, Charlene (Roger) Guingrich; 14 grandchildren, Stacy, Kristopher, Josh, Brian, Jaime, Angela, Alicia, Andrew, Dillon, Danielle, Aaron, Corey, Ashley and Rick; and many great-grandchildren. Eldon also leaves behind a special friend, Pat Bailey of Celina.
He is also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William (Shirley) Moorman.
Eldon was a 1955 graduate of Celina High School. He retired from Huffy Bicycle in Celina after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina Moose Lodge, Celina VFW and Celina Eagles.
Eldon was well known to always have a joke at the ready and filled the room with laughter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a founding member of the Mercer County Beagle Club. He spent many hours playing cards, listening to bluegrass, and woodworking. Most of all, Eldon was incredibly proud of his life’s work: his family.
Visitation hours will take place from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, with Fr. Adam Berning officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at the funeral home Tuesday morning.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
