Donna B. Jones

Donna B. Jones, 86, of Celina, Ohio passed away at 10:05 pm on July 12, 2014 at Mercer Health, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born April 18, 1928 in Stryker, Ohio to the late Otis & Dora (Mann) Sloan. On August 2, 1953 she married Clair Jones, who survives in Celina, Ohio.

Also surviving: daughter: Patty & Thomas Buening, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Matthew & Amber Buening, Ryan Buening, Andrew Buening, Jennifer Buening, Amy Buening, brother: Vernon & Carol Sloan, Stryker, Ohio; sister-in-law: Wilma Sloan, Bryan, Ohio.

Proceeded in death by: daughter: Jennifer Jones; brother: Virgil Sloan; sister: Gertrude & Ray Goachee.

Donna loved her grandchildren; She loved reading, flowers, sewing, arts & crafts. She had many close friends and nieces & nephews. Her favorite job was secretary at St. Pauls United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher, she taught in Troy, Ohio; McComb, Ohio; Seattle, Washington while her husband was in the service. She taught high school English in Celina and Grades 4,5,6 at Celina East School, West and IC School. She was Secretary at Wright Patt, Dayton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Stryker High School & Defiance College and received her Masters from the Ohio State University.

Services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 17th at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Rev. Matt Reynold officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, Ohio and 1 hour before services on Thursday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercer County Humane Society & Mercer County Library.
