Dean A. Garwick of Celina passed away at the age of 59 on April 4, 2021 12:48 am in the morning at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on January 17, 1962 in Celina. On August 22, 1987 he married Valery K. (Coats) Garwick and she survives at the residence in Ceina.
Other survivers are his children Robert (Elizabeth Chestnut) Garwick, Salem, Ohio and Nicole (John) Flask, Lisbon, Ohio; his mother, Janice Garwick, Celina; two sisters, Laura (Rob) Thomas, Hayes, Virginia and Teri (David) Butler, Noblesville, Indiana; a mother-in-law, Vivian Coats, Celina; a sister-in-law, Vicki (Ken) Prenger, Celina; a brother-in-law, Vernon (Tina) Coats Jr, Monroeville, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Also proceeding him in death is his father, Richard Garwick; and his father-in-law, Vernon Coats Sr.
Dean was a 1980 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for 28 years at Marsh Bellowfram in West Virginia and most recently worked for Western and South Life Insurance in Salem, Ohio.
He was a member of First Church of God in Celina.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. A funeral service will follow the visiting hours at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Matt Overman officiating.
Burial will follow at Mercery Memory Gardens in Celina with military rites to be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.
Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at visitation and funeral service.
