Dana L. Piper, 89, Celina, OH, passed away on September 30, 2015, at 11:05 A.M., at Mercer Heath, Coldwater, OH. He was born November 9, 1925 in Mercer County to Oreal E. and Edna Bernice (Drury) Piper; both preceded him in death. He married Mary Lou Cisco on September 18, 1945 and she preceded him in death on July 13, 2009.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Vicki) Piper, Celina, James (Carol) Piper, Celina, Andy (Deb) Piper, Celina; a daughter, Charlene (Rick) Brooks, Celina; a daughter in law, Linda Piper, Celina; a sister in law, Ruth Stoner, Celina; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Piper; and two brothers, Lyndel and Allwyn Piper.
He was 1944 graduate of Neptune High School. He retired as a distributor for Marathon Oil in Celina after 38 years of service.
Dana had many hobbies but he especially enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was also very proud of the fact that he traveled on his motorcycle through every state in the continental U.S. and every province and territory in Canada. He also enjoyed spending time with the Cisco family.
Dana will be greatly missed by all.
He was a member of Neptune Church of God, and Shaws Masonic Lodge 0377, Rockford.
Visitation hours will be from 3 – 7 P.M., Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral service will begin at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday in the Cisco Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Clutter, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, OH.
Memorial contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater and/or C.A.L.L. Ministries, Celina.
