Carol M Shaner

Carol M. Shaner, age 80, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, at Vancrest of St. Marys. She was born July 17, 1943, in Lima, Ohio to the late Eugene and Marian (Adams) Elsehowe. On May 25, 1991, she married Tyrone C. Shaner and he survives at the residence in Celina.

Other survivors include her children, Gerald (Jen) Rutledge, York, Pennsylvania, John Rutledge, Fort Shawnee, Ohio and Darren Rutledge, The Villages, Florida; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Rick (Sue) Mawhorr, Lima and Mike (Jennifer) Lousha, Gordon, Texas; and a sister, Bev Duff, Lima.

Carol was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dave Rutledge.

Carol was a 1961 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She retired after working for Children Services in both Lima and Wapakoneta for over 20 years.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Lima and attended Zion Methodist Church in Celina.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to the services at the funeral home.

Graveside services will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
