Carmen Atkinson Voskuhl, age 86, formerly of Celina, Ohio, passed away May 5, 2019 at Timber Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Jasper, Texas. She was born on June 21, 1932 in Crystal City, Texas to the late Benito and Enriqueta (Saucedo) Rodriguez.
Survivors include her children, Cathy (Dan) Homan, Longwood, Florida, Becky (Mike) Wilson, Jasper, Texas, John Atkinson, Scottown, Ohio, and Mary Atkinson, Port Neches, Texas; a brother, Jim Rodriguez, Celina, Ohio; five step-children; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by her first husband, John Atkinson; second husband, Dave Voskuhl; a son, Michael Atkinson; a daughter, Deb (Larry) Hunt; a sister, Rosa Briones; and four brothers, Ray, Ben, Henry, Everardo (Lalo) Rodriguez.
Carmen was a 1951 graduate from Immaculate Conception High School. She retired from Huffy’s in Celina after many years of service.
She was a devout member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend who always put her family first. Carmen loved plants and flowers and was known for her beautiful yard and lush garden. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds.
Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Mass of Christian Burial and the celebration of her life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S., officiating. The family will also receive friends from 9:00 am – 9:45 am prior to the funeral mass at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
