Anthony “Tony” L. Rotondo, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on May 9, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 25, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Nicola and Virginia (Diterlizzi) Rotondo. On March 24, 1982 he married the love of his life Peg (Gehring) Rotondo and she survives at the residence in Celina.
Other survivors include his children, Marisa (Michael) Sprowles, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Nicolas Rotondo, Raleigh, North Carolina; a grandson, Beowulf Sproles; and his siblings, Frank (Fran) Rotondo, Mobile, Alabama, Marv (Cindy) Rotondo, Sylvania, Ohio and Laura (Rich) McMillian, Sylvania, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Nick Rotondo.
Tony was a 1972 graduate of Start High School in Toledo and went on to receive his bachelor's and master’s degrees from the University of Toledo. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life including the National Park Service. He owned and operated several businesses, his favorite of which was Whole Earth Rafting Company, his time on the New and Gauley Rivers in West Virginia there were his most long lasting and favorite memories. He ultimately retired, after many years of service from the Mercer County District Library in Celina and Mendon, where he loved delivering educational programming.
Tony lived a great life and was loved by his siblings, wife, children, grandson very much and will be deeply missed by all.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the Rotondo family.
