Alberta “Bert” Eckstein, age 90, of Celina, Ohio, entered into God’s eternal rest on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 8:40 am at her daughters home in Greenville. She was born March 13, 1930 in Coldwater to the late Ferd and Cecilia (Weyer) Moorman. On October 30, 1948 she married Clarence Eckstein and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2018.
Bert adored her loving family; she is survived by six daughters, Mary (Roger) Harting, Convoy, Ohio, Carol (Larry) Ginn, Greenville, Ohio, Janice Eckstein, Columbus, Ohio, Vickie (David) Goodlett, Mt. Eden, Kentucky, Linda (John) Klenke, Coldwater, Ohio, and Brenda (Michael) Case, Galloway, Ohio; three sons, Gerard “Gary” (Sandy) Eckstein, Commercial Point, Ohio, Clarence Jr. (Jan) Eckstein, Celina, Ohio, and Douglas (Sarah) Eckstein, Fairborn, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.
Also preceded in death by an infant son, David Lee Eckstein; two sisters, Dolores Schlosser and Virgene Moorman; six brothers, Sylvester, Wilfred, Arthur, Anthony, Kenneth and Edgar Moorman; a son-in-law, Dick Ley; a granddaughter, Carrie Eckstein; and a great grandson, Zachary Feasby.
Bert was a homemaker and cooked for many years with Betty Wurster for many organizations. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Altar Rosary Society, Knights of St. Johns #30, St. Gaspar Del Bufalo Auxiliary, Celina V. F. W. Auxiliary Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Auxiliary Post #210, where she served as president for many years.
Due to restrictions of the Covid-19 virus, we will be following the guidelines set by the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s office.
Visitations hours will take place from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina; where the Celina American Legion Auxiliary will hold membership services at 6:00 pm.
Mass of Christian burial and the celebration of Bert’s life will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, December 18, 2020, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S., officiating and Fr. Barry Stechschulte and Deacon Marty Brown, co-officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
